About the Course
Even water can harm. "The Dose Makes the Poison.”
In a work environment where occupational illnesses and injuries are on the rise due to workers’ exposure to unsafe working conditions and incorrect handling of chemicals, there is a need to raise awareness of an occupational hazard with serious consequences for everyone— Chemical Hazards!
According to the International Labor Organisation (ILO), and its projections based on its statistics, there will be 2 million work-related deaths annually.
About 1.62 million of these deaths (approximately 81% of the 2 million deaths) are the result of occupational illnesses, while the remaining 19% (approximately 380,000 deaths) are the result of physical injuries in the workplace. Work-related ill health is the adverse health effects resulting from the nature of work or occupational activity that affect the internal organs of the human body, causing damage or deterioration as a result of periodic and repeated exposure to harmful substances over a specific period of time.
Here, we focus on chemicals, their hazards and their associated risks, as well as how to prevent and handle them safely. We are here to improve this situation by providing employees and workers with information, instructions, and training regarding chemicals and how to handle them during transportation, storage, use, and disposal.
This translates into an understanding of the hazard and then taking the necessary precautions.
Course Contents
What You Will Learn
I. Introduction to Chemical Hazards
This section lays the groundwork for understanding the nature and impact of chemical hazards in the workplace. It introduces key concepts such as exposure limits, legal responsibilities, and the importance of recognizing warning labels. Learners will also explore industry statistics that highlight the significance of chemical safety in preventing occupational illnesses and incidents.
II. Hazard Communication (HazCom)
In this section, participants will learn how chemical information is conveyed through standardized systems. It covers the essentials of hazard communication, including the role of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), labeling requirements, and key properties of chemicals that influence risk. The section also touches on health effects and introduces foundational toxicological concepts relevant to workplace exposure.
III. Hazardous Materials (HazMat)
This section focuses on the classification and handling of hazardous materials. Learners will understand how to identify HazMat risks, interpret labeling systems like placards, and apply practical mitigation strategies. It emphasizes how proper planning, equipment, and communication are vital in minimizing chemical-related dangers on site.
IV. Global Chemical Labeling and Hazard Communication Systems
Participants will explore internationally recognized systems that standardize how chemical hazards are identified and communicated. The section introduces tools used across different regions and industries, helping learners navigate global compliance requirements and enhance workplace safety through consistent labeling practices.
V. Safe Chemical Storage and Compatibility Management
Here, the course covers the principles of organizing and storing chemicals safely to avoid dangerous reactions. Learners will gain insights into chemical compatibility, segregation methods, and engineering controls that prevent incidents caused by improper storage or mixing of substances.
VI. Hazardous Area Classification
This section helps learners understand how to identify and classify areas where explosive or flammable atmospheres may exist due to chemical presence. It covers the basics of zoning and highlights how this classification supports safe equipment selection and risk management.
VII. Hierarchy of Controls & Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
A practical look at how to apply the hierarchy of controls when managing chemical risks. Learners will understand the steps from elimination to PPE, and how to select, use, and manage personal protective equipment effectively to ensure frontline protection.
VIII. Comprehensive Guide to Respiratory Protection
This detailed section equips learners with the knowledge to select and manage respiratory protection correctly. It explains different respirator types, selection criteria, proper usage, fit testing, and maintenance procedures—ensuring respiratory hazards are controlled in various workplace conditions.
IX. Responding to Chemical Emergencies
The course concludes with practical emergency response strategies. Participants will learn essential first aid procedures, spill response techniques, and firefighting considerations specific to chemical incidents. This ensures readiness to act promptly and safely in high-risk situations.

“I worked in the pharmaceutical field for a while in one of the top 10 pharmaceutical firms in Egypt, and there I found the gap? NO chemical safety culture among the organisational hierarchy; they did not understand the hazards, which led to ineffective precautions. All of that was transformed into many adverse health effects on the employees, with severe consequences. This misunderstanding is a benchmark in the whole industry. That was the potential that motivated me to release this unique comprehensive course.”

FAQ
Your Questions Answered!
Is the course live or pre-recorded?
The course features pre-recorded lessons for self-paced learning, with optional live Q&A sessions.
What’s the duration of the course?
we don’t focus on the length of our courses because it’s not an accurate measure of their quality.
What truly matters is that the course content is well-organized, concise, and free of unnecessary fillers added solely to extend the duration.
All our courses are divided into sections, with lessons under each section and topics under some lessons. This structure ensures ease of learning and quick reference whenever needed.
Our videos are recorded in high-quality FHD with clear audio and are professionally edited to remove any excess content and add supplementary explanations when necessary.
This approach guarantees that all content is of high educational value, unlike courses that are recorded as unstructured live lectures filled with breaks, side discussions, interruptions, and wasted time on unnecessary instructions, like asking participants to mute their microphones.
Therefore, we don’t measure course value by duration. A course could be 100 hours long if that’s what you prefer, but the real challenge and effort lie in creating engaging, high-quality content that respects the learners’ time and maintains their focus.
How long does the course take to complete?
Most learners complete it in 6-8 weeks by dedicating a few hours weekly, but it’s entirely self-paced.
Is there a certificate upon completion?
Yes, a certificate of completion is provided to showcase your new skills.
Can I contact the instructor for support?
Absolutely! The instructor is available to answer your questions and provide additional support.
